Daniel J. Harrington is primarily a realist painter working in gouache (opaque watercolor)
Harrington states, "I am a lifelong resident of Guilford, NY, a small town located in Chenango county. I’ve been painting with gouache for over 20 years. In high school I was very fortunate to be taught by Daniel K. Tennant and it was he who first introduced me to gouache. I knew I had found my preferred medium as soon as I started working with it. I am the third generation living on what remains of our family farm. My rural surroundings are a continual source of inspiration".
In 2015 Harrington won the silver medallion award at the National Exhibition of American Watercolors at View Arts Center, Old Forge, NY for his painting entitled, "Hay Day"
