Russian by birth, cosmopolitan by inclination, Alla Boldina is an artist who is passionate about creative expression, imagination, and philosophical depth. Subversive and rebellious in spirit, she often challenges the boundaries of the traditional paradigms of beauty, perception, and knowledge in her tactile abstractions. Alla Boldina explores the existential dimensions of the universal human condition. Without any preconceived answers, she invites her viewers to pose questions about memory, borders/boundaries, and human experience. "My work is always rooted in some transformation, the interplay between being and becoming. Every painting is an attempt at a dialogue with my viewers about the anomalies of our existential condition and the dichotomies of wholeness and fragmentation, presence and absence, among other subjects. I see my viewers as co-creators of meaning, not simple observers of my art," the artist explains.
